LSTME Busan held a short training on “Beer brewing process” for the visiting students from Kyungnam and Inje Universities under the supervision of Professor Park Eun-joo (Kyungnam University) and Professor Lee Sang-hyun (Inje University) on the 17th of May.
Dr Benedict Prah, Abid Ali, and Byeong Woo Ko were the LSTME Busan’s hosts and organizers at this training.
LSTME Busan is going to participate in the 5th Korean-German Energy Day with the topic of “Tackling the Climate and Energy Crisis: the Role of Offshore Wind, Grid Expansion and Digitalization”. This seminar is going to be held at Bexco, Busan, South Korea on the 26th of May 2023.
We are happy to welcome our new intern from Germany. Antonia is a fourth-year Diploma student at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, and her research focus is on Nanotechnology. She is going to contribute to our team from April to September 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Hyo-Jin Ahn.
We are happy to announce Dr. Alexander Jahn is going to continue his professional career in a professorship position at MCI Innsbruck. Dr Jahn devoted his time to the LSTME for more than five years as a senior Postdoctoral researcher, and he is going to continue his collaboration with our research center as our Scientific Committee member.
Bong graduated with his MSc from FAU Erlangen, and he started to work in a Korean Engineering company for 6 months as a researcher before joining our research center. He is going to follow his research in the field of downstream processes, more specifically, microalgae, as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Mangi-Cho.
We are delighted to announce our newly joined Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr. Jiryeon Jang.
Dr. Jang is focused on the treatment of patients suffering from intractable digestive diseases. The primary objective of her research is to create a system that replicates the functions of the human intestine using organoids and organ-on-a-chips. This system will enable the implementation of digestive diseases in organ chips. The secondary objective of her research is to leverage this system to understand the pathogenesis mechanism of digestive diseases and explore new methods for their treatment.
